2nd battery or bigger alt ?

Recommended Posts

so I have a 150 amp alt in the car (police package stock alt) now and a 5 farad cap, voltage at idle full tilt never goes below 12 volts. at cap. I thinking about a 2nd battery in the trunk and replacing the cap with it, or should I just go with a bigger alt ?

running

jbl 1400.1

hifonics 5 channel (100 x 4 + 300 x 1)

big three 0 gauge

power and grounds 0 gauge

amp feeds 4 gauge

Have you looked at the Powermaster batteries? a D3100 in the trunk would make a difference instead of that cap
