civichatch
Im pretty sure that 1000 rms to that sub wouldnt last long. Lol so probably overpowering is ur problem. HC3400BLK
he probally was goin by the MAX instead of the rms and thought it could take that but reallywould only last for a short period of time. Coolwazabi
smells like its dead.. and max of the R's is 2000w ain't it ? or 1500w ?
dleccord
haha. it was blatant user error. that sub will take 1000watts fine, assuming it's the newer alpines and it's in a well built box. smells like its dead.. and max of the R's is 2000w ain't it ? or 1500w ? nah, they're rated for 500rms on the 10s and 12s and 750rms on the 15s, iirc. dleccord
talking about this sub's rated max is pretty much irrelevant. back to the op, any thing could've happened. things like low ass voltage and making the amp clip to bass boost to incorrect gain settings. a lot of factors. Slinky
more than likely it was due to overpowering or clipping.
