Scientist And the atom smasher

Its good to see you understand this as well and seems like it interests you.

How About Hawkin's theory that all the matter sucked into a black hole will simply disappear?

Afterall, that goes against one of the fundamenal laws of physics that matter and energy can never be created nor destroyed, they can only change form.

So for 30 years his theory had no answer to that. And now the theory is that all of that matter and energy are taken to another universe.

If there are an infinite number of universe's, then its very likely that some of those universes wont have a such thing as a black hole.

So the matter and energy that disappears with the evaporating black holes would appear in that universe that has no black hole.

Maybe they have an opposite of a black hole, a white hole if you will, in which all matter and energy come from.

Sort of a "Big Bang" of matter and energy.

This is sort of the theory of where our universe could have come from.

i dont see how matter could be teleported like this. what would make sence to me is that anything sucked into the hole is shot out the other side with insane speed. kind of like a fan. not that i know a damn thing about any of this stuff. its just what i would think makes sence from reading your conversation.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Its a Stephen Hawking theory.

The focused gravity of a blackhole at its singularity is so intense at that one point, that it bends space to its breaking point and actually punctures a hole in space.

Whats on the other side of that hole no-one knows, but the theory is that there is no space on the other side.

Now if there was another hole puncturing space itself somewhere, and also had no space on the other side, then whatever entered the entrance hole would instantly travel to the exit. Because of no space or time in between the two, there is no distance to travel and no time elapsed.

Since we're on the subject of space, what do you guys think about life on other planets? I personally dont understand how people can think we are the only life in the universe.

Theres billions of galaxies with billions of planets in each one, how could there not be other life out there.

Now if we will ever see other life forms in my lifetime... Im not sure about that.

I agree with you.

But the distances are so immense we cannot possibly travel to these other worlds right now. At least not in a single lifetime.

ok, so the black hole leads to this empty space where a "white hole" is also located. once in the empty space the "white hole" sucks you through it and now your somewhere else. but this is all just a guess right? it cant be tested yet.

Pretty much, but its just a theory. And only 1 theory and many.

The LHC experiments will give us a little more insight into this and many other questions.

so how does one close a black hole? can it be snuffed out or does it just keep growing?
