fritosaregood Posted January 1, 2010 Report Share Posted January 1, 2010 Like the item linked. get a hard drive to usb adapter, My desktop decided to stop on me and i had to get one to get all my data off. It was 10 bucks on amazon. And some of them are cheap, but your not gonna use it but on time usually. the on for 10 buck on amazon is like a mix of different parts that you have to assemble for either a laptop or desktop hard drive. if you take the laptop apart and see a connector that looks like it I hooks up a harddrive and says slave on it. put your old drive on it. and change the jumper pin to slave and put the new drive on the original plug. Thats how most desktops work, idk if the laptop do. i doubt it since they are so compact. also. if you get the hard drive to usb adapter of amazon. when you plug it in to your hard drive, you need to put the jumper pin on the master setting. there should be picture on the side showing how.
