BassJunkie
So my battery came loose in my trunk and spilled out, corroded the terminals, should I replace the acid with water for the time being? Im driving a few hrs tonight to a new years party and I'm not sure what to do about the second battery, take it out and wrap the terminals in blacktape and just run one battery? Fill the battery with water? Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. E a r t h
this is one of the reasons you shouldn't have a wet cell style battery in the cabin of the vehicle. the other being the fact that they vent hydrogen gas. sealed agm is the way to go and always secure batteries
cqtama
but is stilla very good point. if your gunna be driving around pull that battery out. i personly wouldnt want to be drving around with it in the truck if its leaking or has leaked. 95_1500
I would disconnect and remove the battery.. Filling it with water would probably be fine but i wouldnt risk it spilling again. Just disconnect it, tape the terminals and remove it. Worry about it after you get back from the party, that battery could potentially drain your starting batt and you not be able to make it home tonight Just what I would do... maddog8431
Actually it does, your not suppose to have wet cell batteries inside the cabin of the vehicle. But anyways, use Distilled water in the battery and it should be fine. Make sure its true distilled water tho.
Neel
Remove the battery , and never put an unsealed , unsecured battery in your car ever again. If you don't know how to install a safe system in your car , don't do it at all. Quote Too Much Stuff to list .

E a r t h
has nothing to do with what he asked. doesn't really matter, bottom line is it's hazardous even having it inside the cabin. now it sounds like he has an electrolyte spill to take care of but will deteriorate what it came in contact with, not including potent vapors inside the vehicle
