Ok is this funny or am I the idiot here?

Ok I told my friend to shop on eBAY because the prices are almost 50% cheaper than the main dealers so he did... he calls me up two days later and tells me he ordered:

2x Alpine TYPE-R 12" Dual 4OHM

1x Quantum Amplifier 2800 "RMS" they say that on their add but we all know better...

The amp is ALSO 4 channel (which I told him to let me help him with the amp) he insists he'll just bridge the connections, I tried telling him that amp he ordered is only stable to 2 and 4 OHM so he can ONLY get 4OHMs outta the sub setup having two of them so hes going to only get 600RMS from this amp (enough to power ONE of the type r's underpowered...)

He "thinks" his system will be the loudest in fryeburg (theres a lot of fryeburg systems:) so he blatently told me to my face that his setup will beat my:

2x Fi SSD 15" D1 copper coil

1x Hifonics 1605 BRUTUS (1600RMS @ 1OHM)

if he REALLY knew what he was doing he could beat you with those 12"s though. but he clearly isnt even close to knowing how to do that.

dont even think about it bro, let him get his set up going and just let your set up do the talking. enough said, and even though you will be louder there will always be an excuss on his part why his didnt beat yours. trust me i know, i have a friend thats the same way

Who cares who's is loudest? I only care if it sounds good and that it will give me enough bass to satisfy me for a year or two.

Good call on the ebay though. Shit is ALWAYS at least 50% cheaper than anywhere else (at least on subs I've noticed).

who cares, just let him buy his stuff build it and then let the sound do the talking. if you really want to find out whos louder just park your cars nose to nose and let your friends vote. kinda like a streetbeat competition. could be fun and then you win (hopefulyy)

Best thing to do when ppl are ignorant assholes like this (no offense since hes your friend) is tell him how to parallel the alpines and still let him bridge the channels. Not only will he STILL not be as loud as you but his amp will fry within a few months if not days (took my audiobahn a4002 @ 2 ohm bridged 6 months to die)
