shadowcaster
hello guys/gals.I was just curious on what the difference is between the two boxes other than the obvious.I am currently running 2 Infinity 1252W dual 4 ohm, powered by a Rockford Fosgate p500-2.The subs are 350RMS rated and the amp is [email protected] I have them in a custom built 1.25cubic FT/chamber box with a little over 1LB of polyfill per side.I want to make a new box and have the room for it to be ported [2.0CuFt]But would like some opinions on the change,If anyone has used them before- i have but never in a ported enclosure...also tuning would be at 30HZ as recommended by Infinity.THANKS in advance for all opinions. 2000 blazer LS 240 mechman 2 b2 HN v3 15s crescendo bc5500 @.5 1/0 ebflex ofc d680/g31 kenwood deck mb quart components crescendo pwx 8s lots more to come blazer build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/204432-shadowcasters-2k-blazer/ 142.8db MECA 2016 PA state champ mod 1 class
Beanz
You'll get more output with the ported and since its tuned that low those low notes WILL POUND but youre upper frequencys wont be as loud since your tuning that high That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do. imfrom210texas
i've heard that properly built vented, will be about twice as loud as sealed, but that's just what I heard. I could be majorly wrong If Morgan Freeman narrated a story on how great AIDS is, I would be captivated and tempted to contract it myself. His voice just fills my soul with warm fuzzies and puppy tears. He has NO idea and may have a touch of autism to be honest. Is this guy real or is he joking? i actually mistook him for a lesbian in that demo video Wanted to mess around with a box for the garage. Was thinking 4 6x9 in 4 cube at like 30 hz... These are the things that make me lol
solosickness
Look heres how I see it... Ported= higher spl by around 35%-45% for shorter bandwidth sealed= Not as high in spl but a nicee bandwidth and sq will play pretty much everything you throw at it. R_Mac_1
Let's say this. My systems are in my sig. The ported 12" Alpine Type E running on ~300w in my Rainier is in a ported enclosure (not sure specs). The Fi SSD 12 running on a Sundown 1200D in my Bonneville is sealed (~1.1 cubes). Disregarding the differences in the vehicles and all the other variables, my Rainier is damn near, if not as loud as my Bonneville (except on the lows). I can't wait til it warms up and I build a new enclosure for my SSD. 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi Pioneer DEH-P6000UB Alpine SPX-17REF 6.5" components (active) Sundown SAX-50.4 Sundown z15 (3 cubes @ 35 hz) Sundown SAX-1200D 2006 Buick Rainier CXL AWD V8 Stock Bose system 12" Alpine Type E in aeroported box Profile AP1000M
