Blown Subwoofer

I was on my way to work today bumpin' pretty hard. As soon as i pull into the parking lot of my work the subwoofer stops working. I checked all my connections, fuses, etc. everything is in tact. I checked the impedance of the voice coils on the sub. The meter was showing all sorts of goofy shit. I knew immediateley the sub was blown. I was pushing the sub with about 2000wrms. i set the gains with an o-scope so i knew i wasn't sending it a clipped signal, atleast at 14.4 volts. I have been having some voltage issues. My voltage would drop as low as 11.8 with the system at full tilt. I just want to clarify with you guys that low voltage and a clipped signal was the cause of my blown subwoofer?

Any one selling a sub that can take 2000wrms daily on the cheap lol

have u checked to see if ur batteries are still good? 11.8 isnt that bad, its not great but not horrible

the sub is a 15" merlon audio m7 http://merlonaudio.com/ i picked it up from a guy on ROE real cheap

battery is still reading 14.4/14.5 at idle so i don't think its the batt.

Yes, you can blow it at 11.8V...

At that kind of low voltage the amp will clip.

lol! i dont use any type of bass boost what so ever. not on the amp or on the headunit.

I'm going to have to pull the sub out of the box when i get home to check it out. I'm at work right now so i'm limited.

Yeah more than likely the specs are bullshit. I was probably throwing way too much power on it.
