chevyhoe08 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) I am planning my new box and setup but IDk what to pick. i already have 4 12" L7 kickers and 2 RF t20001bd. But i have been planning to do the switch to Fi. so my question is do i build my new box for 4 12" L7's or do i make it for 2 15" Fi BTLs. what would be louder? 2 15" btls or 4 12" L7s this is going into a suv. Team_DC-Derrick Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) if you build a right box for your 12s, they will be louder, i would suggest getting some one on here to design a box for you.. then again, in the right box, the BTLs could be louder, if you have the equipment i say its worth a shot to make a really sick ass box and if that doesnt work, you only wasted 60 bucks, and then you can buy the BTLs Edited February 3, 2010 by Army_guy614 Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... Guest Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 i know that 2 btls are loud but are they worth the swith. noone knows. 4 12's > 2 15's in cone area so theoretically itll be louder Quote

kl0wn Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 4 12s = 452.16in^2 2 15s = 353.25in^2 So like Kranny said, theoretically the 4 12s will be louder. Remember though, that the BTLs are rated for 2,000 RMS (Yes I know people put more on them), but let's say you put a good clean 2,000 RMS on both, that equals out to be 4,000 RMS. The L7s are only rated 750 (I've never personally seen them pushed over 750 rms) so let's say you send them a good clean 750 RMS each, you end up with 3,000 RMS. Just something to remember when you are planning on powering whatever setup you go with. Quote 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
