I now have a 2008, and I honestly don't trust myself to install an LOC and amp. I contacted two shops that I've done business with in the past, and both quoted me at $65 for the install. Now I need to decide which one to go with. What would be the best way to pick one? I've seen work done by both and they both do a very good job. One of them is a member of the BBB and has an A+ rating. The other is not a member and has one complaint against it in the last 36 months, which was administratively closed (BBB said that the shop made an offer to repair, but the customer did not accept the offer). Should I just go in and talk with them and go with the one that gives me the best "vibe"? It's been years since I've been to either one, but there is one that I'm leaning towards. I would check out the shop and see who seems i guess you could say more legit? When i go to a shop i can tell when they just want money or actually like doing what they do and do it right, and thats why i stick with one local shop because the other just seems to want profit. But if its just those simple things I wouldn't worry about it too much. But shop #1 sounds best from what you say.

I have a power wire thats cut in 2 places. Not ran where i asked it to be done and my driver side door controls weren't even hooked back up. The driver door controls were after i went back for more work!! Yeah i gave them a second chance. Now that the "Legit" place is down i have to look elsewhere to find good service. Go with the people that work there i'd say. Get to know who will be working on your car... r00k

The shop could have an amazing reputation but its the people that could potentially F it up. Like you said though, getting to know the people is always a good idea.
r00k Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Thats how it is here.... Freemans has a high rep. But in the last year or 2 if your not droppin $1000 when you go in they half ass there work. Only thing i'll go back for now is window tinting being that guy does good work.

But in the last year or 2 if your not droppin $1000 when you go inthey half ass there work. what the hell are you buying at Freemans for under $1000?? a radio??? they are high as hell, but when a car is a bit out of my comfort level, Ill send it to Freemans, but only the lake store. I had Independence hummer bring me a H2 when freemans couldnt figure out how to tie extra screens to the factory overhead 99 suburban, ranger rover headlights, SS front bumper,roll pan with frenched tag, 2nd row delete,glassed dash..audio to come whenever I figure out what I want.
r00k Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I "went" for just installs. Head unit, wiring and such. I guess you could say i'm a beginner cause i don't trust myself to install a head unit or do my own wiring. Now i don't trust them to do it either!!
