teamace24 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I have an 07 yukon with stock 160 amp alternator and am running 2 batteries but they are both mismatched and stock type very weak 500cca non brand batteries. I am running an audioque 1200d 1200rms for bass and mtx 400 rms for highs. Have knukonceptz ultra fleks running to them and up front but will do the big 3 in the next day or two with my rest of my 4 gauge. However, i have considerable voltage drop all the way to 10.7 when i play music full tilt(not full gain or volume just at the max i can safely). Im in the market for a total of 2 batteries to replace these keeping in mind they will also turn my car on and run my system as well. I have compartments for both up in the hood. EricR Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 It would be safe to say if you get a XS Power battery to replace the stocker under the hood and do the big 3 in 1/0 you shouldn't have any more problems with only 1200 watts. I would also do 1/0 to the amp and just get a 1/0-4 gauge reducer for the inputs. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
Beanz Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 you got some problems there if you running that low on amp with 1200 Man id get that xs power like as stated above should do you a LOT more better then those duralast That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

So are you saying just one xs battery for my system and leave just one battery for my system and car, or do you mean an xs power battery and one stock battery both in parallel. Thewes Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 What about two Deka 9a31 will these 2 be ok. That would be good replace your stock battery with 1 and then put the other in the factory spot for a second battery under the hood, love that spot.

Even I dont drop that low on 2KW with my stock 105a alt and stock ~700cca battery at near-top listening levels. Or you have yet to do "the big 3" properly. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.

Just one more thought, i can get 2 C&D UPS12-490MR that are supposed to be better than those dekas will these be better.
