Miakehl Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I've been having a problem with my amp cutting out if the bass boost gets turned up a smidgen too much, only problem is that level is like 40%. I've already check my ohms. its exactly 2.0 at the amp. Voltage won't drop below 13.3 at full tilt. Removed the LOC and swapped it for the line-level to RCA adapter that came with the amp. What do? kirill007 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 How did you set the gain? I hope with a scope or a DMM. Because if you're doing it by ear and if you don't have "trained" ears you could be clipping hard. You shouldn't us bassboost as it clips the bass freqeuncy around 45hz and also creates a big peak. The more clipping you have, the more heat, but doesn't always means louder. So just put you're bassboost on 0 and bass on you're HU also on 0. EDIT: i hear the clipping, so just set you're gains with a dmm.(their is a thread about it in the amplifier section i think) setting you're gains Put you're bassboost at 0, and set you're gains. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
