Feeler about Wire

Recommended Posts

Electrons don't care if its a single solid piece of wire or a million strands it still has the same resistance to deal with, the only thing wire count does is make it more flexible and easy to mold it in places a lesser count could do. Just my .02

I was always under the impression that more strand count equaled more flexability beyond that I'm not sure how much more benefit it would be.

iso, youre right

for dc current, it is carried throughout the conductor. what you need is density, which is why busbars are so popular, highest density possible cuz its solid.

more strands only means more flexibility.

but nice 0g for <4 bux a foot sounds good, wheres it at?

I use Stinger for all my wirring and buy from Darvex.

My 1/0 Sells for $3.75.

Stinger 0 Gauge Blue Power Wire

Code: SHW10B

Price: $3.75

http://www.darvex.com/SHW10B/Stinger+0+Gau...Power+Wire.html

Stinger 0 Gauge Gray Power Wire

Code: SHW10G

Price: $3.75

http://www.darvex.com/SHW10G/Stinger+0+Gau...Power+Wire.html

Besides useing Stinger and AAMP of America products all across the baord since day 1. I do buy for the name Stinger on my wire too. but I have used it since 95/96 and am just a fan boy of Stinger, like I'm a fanboy of Kicker subwoofers and Rockford Fosgates BD subwoofer amps. Aw what can I say I just have great respect for the companies I use and am proud to have their name branded on the products I use.

Now to be truthful I am a rare bread and alot of you guys no that I'm no noob to car audio products or the car audio scene but when I actually do a personal install I just like useing the companies that have helped me or worked with me or given me (well I had to pay retail) trust worthy products that have stood the test of time and that has to do with buying a name to a point also.

Like I said I'm a rare bread or you can say that I'm thee exception to the statis quoe.

It should be pure OFC wire and I think the strand count is respectable.

Now what I will need next is 2/0 to be trully honest.

Stinger Authorized Dealer, I just don't know James as I will be staying with Stinger unless I need to use Rockford Fosgates 2/0 if its still made but then again I might have better power transfer running 2 runs of 1/0.

50 foot Spools cost:

Stinger 0 Gauge Blue Power Wire

Code: SHW10B-50

Price: $174.00

http://www.darvex.com/SHW10B-50/Stinger+0+...Power+Wire.html

Stinger 0 Gauge Gray Power Wire

Code: SHW10G-50

Price: $175.00

http://www.darvex.com/SHW10G-50/Stinger+0+...Power+Wire.html

That equals $3.50 a foot when buying a 50 foot spoll.

James you did ask for our honest opinions no matter what and this is where I stand.

my only thoughts on that is why buy wire for more that is less strand count less density then what is available.

lets say a 6200 strand wire and a 4700 strand wire is the same thickness, there will be less air between strands in 6200 wire then there would be in the 4700 strand wire.

RF doesn't make 2/0 anymore

i mistyped the 6200 even in this response its 6370, also the wire is more equivalent to normal 2/0 wires in depth

no qualms either way from me im just trying to understand why people buy inferior product for more money when a higher quality product is available at a cheaper price point.

no feelings either way from me on it just trying to get ideas
