If I'm understanding you right, then yeah. that should be 1ohm.... My guess is either a problem with the rca outs on the headunit end or the input on the amp. was the amp/headunit brand new?

its a kenwood kdc 691 one of the newest ones almost a year old so is the amp but i had it hooked up to the cheap xovision x348nt touchscreen and it did the same thing to it. it worked fine on my two audiobahn subs just when i sold those to get these 4 kickers it wotn work now

im going to go where i bought the amp this weekend see if they can get it figured out im going to ask if i can hook up a different mono amp to see if the amp is the problem i got it almost a year ago so i should still have my warranty on it. i hope

honestly, one of the subs has to be bad or one of your connections are bad. If the amp/hu/old subs worked. but now with amp/new&old hu/new subs dont work its gotta be the new subs. possibly a mismatched coil in your order. (if one of them is a 2ohm sub your gonna get below 1ohm and amp=unstable)

try turning your gain down on your amp the new headunit could have higher output voltage and could be sending the amp into protect cause clipping

the rca's are shorting like internally lil this happened to me recently due to careless instillation so do it your self kids haha theese people even forgot to scrape paint for ground lol never go for free installation :P
