Fi Audio 15 Vs. Carbon Fiber Trunk Lid Who Won?

Well here is what I am gonna do..You see in the picture the two flat spots on the underside of the trunk lid..Where the Channels connect to..I am gonna hole saw a one hole on each of the two flat spots and fill those cavaitys with Resin..I might insert some rope just to increase the strength and give the resin something to bond to...Even though it should bond to the underside of the lid since it is fiberglass anyway...Just fill it up..Slosh it around and fill the channels..Then let it dry...Then when it drys flip the trunk and take the lights out and fill it as well..Probably use a little Cardboard to Make a cavity for my Liscense plate lights to go in...Cause I want them to be able to come out incase something Happens...Well what do you guys think..Give me some insight...You guys have Resined more shit than I have let me know what you think...

shit I feel kinda bad cause I thought surely it would be strong enough to take some beat.

maybee drill some small holes so you can spay some foam in there, dont go overboad on it.

instead of pouring pure resin in there here is an idea. finely chop (or hell, even in a blender) some fiberglass to mix with the resin, then pour the fiberglass/resin mix in the holes. i have wanted to try this in an enclosure on some 45 degree/rounded corners but havent the opportunity arise yet.

but resin alone might become brittle and break off inside your trunk lid....then you would have resin bouncing inside making noises and would be back to square one...lol.

if you resin it or use resin at all, make sure you scuff it up real good where you can.

i kinda like the spray foam idea, but be careful with it you can crack CF with that stuff if you go overboard

yea do a little bit at a time let it set up and cure, do another small section untilt its full and solid.

(thats how I did my mustang trunk lid it was fiberglass and flexxed like a mofo)

i learned the hard way we were filling in my lil bros firebirds rear quarterpanels and it hella pushed the fender out

To hell with it..Its like trying to polish a turd...I am just gonna save up some money and buy an OEM Trunk lid...Expanding foam probably would stiffen it up the way it needs to be, but it would still flex..and proably crack more even if I put resin in it...I thought about it the whole way out of town today..Just gonna suck it up and say Seibon trunks and hoods are for Trailer queen Tuner trash...Not for the Everyday Tuner trash...You can't go wrong with Metal and concreate...
