Most likely a fried voice coil, because that fucker wreaks. It rattles to hell as well. So, tonight, or tomorrow, I'm gonna yank it out of my box, and figure out what the culprit is. I know kenwood amps/radios>subs, hell, ppl even run that amp at 1 ohm and it'll get hot, but won't shut off. Put 300wrms to it.. and slapped the tinsel leads right off of it... weak little thing. I need to make some system upgrades. But as far as your stuff goes just try to get some git-er-by stuff off of craigslist or ebay if you need emergency beat while you're saving up for some more good shit.

So I'm not surprised that one of them died. 450watts each at a 2ohm load is just 50 over the RMS rating, and they can handle a 1200W burp/peak. that sucks bro, what are you gonna replace it with? Haha, it does suck. For the time being, I'm going to use the blown one as a passive radiator in my box while I try and get a warranty deal on it. I'll deal with the rattling (which is most likely the copper coil unraveling) for awhile until a new one gets in. Considering I'm lacking funds at the moment, I'm going to stall my wall plan and get some of the dual 2ohm Fi SSD 12s, wire them to 1ohm...try and keep my amp alive, and then eventually get a T1500 for them. They take a beating, but from what I've heard, they're really easy to blow. And to think, I blew mine on some weak ass black eyed peas song. Imma Be...to be exact. I've played much worse on them before. I'm surprised I didn't kill them with something from DJ Billy E, E40, or even Gorilla Zoe. But Black Eyed Peas?
