idbl_fanatic
Ok, heres the deal, I just upgrade to Vista, and NOW I can't print to my network printer (on an XP system). I can see ALL my computers in "network Map" however, if I look in "network" they aren't there, just my laptop, and "residential gateway device" (Router) Now..........IF I go, run-->\\office--->enter. It will STILL connect, I think the fact that I can't "see" the others in "network" this is why it wont connect to the printer. I have installed the printer locally on Vista, tried network magic, still no go. Any ideas?? I REALLY need to get this fixed Quote 160 + dB and Gaining!! I actually didnt pay anything for it, it was a free upgrade when I bought my laptop, yes I turned off all firewalls, STILL didn't work, I found that my USB hub on the XP system stopped working, I thought, ALL RIGHT!!! I found it.....NOPE still don't work. I even installed a print server, and tried that, and I STILL can't connect to it. Quote 160 + dB and Gaining!! idbl_fanatic
Do you have another printer you could test with? I tried a print server, and couldn't get ANY PC's to connect to it. I think I may have found my problem, on the Vista system, Under client for MS networks, I CANNOT get it to keep "Windows Locator" for the RPC service. I change it, and it goes right back to being blank when I go back in there. Quote 160 + dB and Gaining!!
