jl 13w7 box help!

Ii have a jl audio 13w7 and need to built a box for it. but my problem is i dont have much room for a 2.25ft box like it recommends. Can I just make it the size i need and hope it sounds good? Ported or sealed?? Im not competing with it, but i do want the most bass i can get with good quality. Car is a c5 corvette, amp is a jl 500/1.

I have quite a bit of experience for the w7s... Go with 1.75 sealed

If you can't get 2 cubes after port displacement run it sealed. But you'll be hurting for it since you're not running much power to it.

Thanks guys, this is the box in there now. about 1.5ish holds 2 10s. the new box can go a little bigger and the top will be glassed to a volcano shape,lol. It goes about 10 inches down into the tub.
