Do you honestly believe that by hooking up more subs you are magically pulling power out of thin air? You amp makes a certain amount of power and a certain impedance...period. Whether there is 1 sub at 4 ohms or 20 subs wired to 4 ohms, your amp will make the same. Nirvalica Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Let me just say the amp only knows the final impedance. If you have 4 4ohm subs wired to 1 ohm, the amp only knows 1 ohm. It doesn't know the subs hooked up are 4 ohms. It doesn't know how many subs are hooked up. It just knows there is a 1 ohm load connected to it and it knows to put out 600 watts at 1 ohm. So your amp will put out 600 watts @ 1 ohm. So you must divide that 600 by 4 and you get 150 watts per sub. If that doesn't convince you, then you need some help. My Youtube Page.
