Strand count does not make it a better wire. It makes it more flexible. In fact more strand count has more potential for higher resistance if its not twisted very very tightly. If you do not require a super super amount of flexibility and your wire is legitimate gauge size with 100% copper (oxygen Free) a plus then go for it!
