no. considering all the weight of the system, the weight of the bigger rims, the bigger rims in general. itll help out the engine, which might increase his gas mileage a little bit. it takes A LOT of strain off the engine when you put gears in.

OH I totally forgot about all the extra weight. My bad lol

I have drove this tank err I mean hoe, it really does have alot of wieght to it, I gotta say tho with all the wieght and rimz and shit its not slow.

new rearend gears will make it alot easier on the engine and trans.

really steve thats a good price for someone to do it right i paid 1800 and still having problems make sure you have some coolant in your radiator that has something to do with the cooling of your engine and tranny

I had the same problem over a time period of 2-3 days in LA and have the same transmission as in your Tahoe. Is it slipping or 100% undriveable?? How many miles?? I was quoted $2,000 for a new transmission or advised to try changing my transmission oil. I told them I had to sit on the price, swap the fluids and will give them a call if it needs to be replaced. I've had no problems since and it has been 16 months. The same thing has happened to many other people I know with the same damn transmission. One guy I know had it last 5 days and thought his tranny was dead, but it went away.

I would wait it on a week or so before you spend that kind of cheese.

I agree with the guys. Not just Meade but everyone go to a reputable place. I had a buddy who drove a blazer his tranny went out and he got it rebuilt for $1500.
