aV8ter Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 How do you like the MLI65s? Not too many PPL running them. In two weeks I am putting two MLI65s in each door of my friends blazer. I am still trying to figure out what tweet and maybe mid range to run them with. Looks good BTW.

I havent had too much experience with running speakers active but these sound very good to me. Still tweaking adjustments on the amp but really would like a separate crossover. These are the tweets I wanted originally but they were on back order for too long. Vifa Never used a three way but some bargain 3" midranges I have been recommended were Fountek FR88, Fostex FF85k, Tang Band w3, and Vifa TG9. Thanks

Tweeters are going to go up on the dash for his set up. He has a old 9813 alpine deck that does active and he is using two mb quart 4125 amps for highs lol(that is 1500-2000 watts just on highs lol). So youre running active, just with the crossover settings on the amp? How is that working for you? How does your mids/highs sound on rap/rock? Can you compare them to any other comp sets you have used? Kevin

Its working for now but Im sure it could be improved with the use of an external crossover. They seem to respond better to rock right now but again, tuning I think. To be honest, this is the first set Ive ever used and the first active system go round. I bet its hard to beat for the price though.
