pk222
hey guys, I know I'm gonna get shit for this and I know this was a mojor newb move but I stripped the power terminal on my boss 3500 amp(I know I'll get shit for the amp to) The threads are pretty gone but I don't want to replace the amp over that because it does do what I want even with some room to upgrade. So does anyone know of a solution? I haven't gotten a chance to really mount my amp yet because I didn't know where I wanted to put it and the wire is just sitting in there and keeps slipping out. Any help is really appreciated

pk222
If I can find a tap and die that small I'll try it. If not I was thinking something like getting a small long bolt and going through the terminal and put a nut on the other side?
SGTSKIP
If I remember that will take a 4 guage wire...... Solder a foot or 2 if wire onto it. Wash, Rinse, Repeat Steven Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister
Gutta Trash
well for a quick fix go to lowes or home depot and buy a very small c clamp this will allow you to be able to temporarily keep it from slipping out , now if you dont want to buy a tap and die set here is an old skool trick get some small wire like bailing wire or maybe even some really small speaker wire . strip the wire put your power wire in the take the small wire and set it in perpendicular to the hole , pit the screw in and slowly turn it and apply pressure it will cause the small wire to fill in the gaps and actually make pretty strong threads , hope this helps On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. Wash, Rinse, RepeatSteven ya, what a great idea. just take a torch to your amp to solder power wire on. use a tap. they are easy to find in the size you need. kyleorsini
the tap and die is the only way to properly fix it, you dont need that exact size depending on the room around the power hold u can use a size bigger, or you could get a new amp, or just do w/e u want 2005 pontiac g6 alpine 9887 mach 5 mli-65 mids w/ seas neo tweets mb quart dsc 4125/dsc 280 2 12" mach 5 audio spls sound digital 8k c&d batts/red top 2 runs pos/neg in 1/0 dc power 270a sp alt knu wiring/rcas

Or you can go to Harbor Freight and get a whole kit dont waste money sending it in. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C.
