Gutta Trash
Do you think this model is sufficient to handle 4kw used as a second battery in the back or do I need to go to the 1200 (or could I actually do ok with the 600?) being fed with 1/0 power wire and around 14.9 volts Quote On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. Gutta Trash
which one is small the 600? I am looking at the 800 I threw the 600 in there because I wanted to know if that was too small (I'm a penny pincher) Quote On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. OLDSKOOL78302
i'd say go with the biggest you can buy.i tryed to go with the smallest when i started to get back in car audio.it's just easier to get it in the first place then later haveing to buy another battery because you change you equipment.jmo Quote HEAD UNIT JENSEN VM9312 4 12" KICKER COMPS 4 PUNCH 150 AMPS "0NE ON EACH SUB" 2 ALPINE 3522 ON MIDS AND HIGHS MLA MOD BIG 3 OPTIMA D31T BATTERY UP FRONT, ANOTHER IN BACK 2 KINETIK BATTERIES IN BACK ALSO"ONE 800,ONE 1200" DUAL ALTERNATORS "ONE 200 AMP" OTHER MECHMAN 270 LARGE CASE
P4killer_
Just my opinion here, but for 4kw, an 800, 1200, even a 2400 isnt enough. Maybe for a burp or a few seconds you might be able to make 4kw of power... but only with the a 2400 or better. dont forget to take efficiency into account ... so a 4kw amp thats 80% efficient would require 5000w of input at 80% efficiency to make 4Kw... Maybe im overthinking things here if so my bad, but i dont think you will get anywhere close to 4000w with anything less than a couple of 2400's or better, but im also assuming you have a stock alt and factory bat under the hood. edit: bad grammar Edited March 14, 2010 by P4killer_ Quote Setup: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000 Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of - DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s
kl0wn
Yeah a 800 won't do. I am only running an AQ1200D and I have a 1400 in the back, and I get some voltage drop at idle, and very little bit while driving. So an 800 won't be enough for 4kw Quote 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
Gutta Trash
I have a h/o alternator ....what about a 600 under the hood and a 1400 in the back? I found a 1400 for $50 more than a 600...I could get both for $250 Quote On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. Team_DC-Derrick
what alt do you have? and why skimp on the electrical if you got a 4kw amp? The more power you have the more chances you have if you dont have the electrical to back it up, for it to blow up in your face, i would trust a hc800 on a 400w amp or something, but i got a 1800 and 2 2400s and i have sever voltage drop in my teg and im running a ap3000.1d Granted i got a 90a alt but still, the more power get beefier with the electrical, dont skimp please Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... Gutta Trash
its not a 4k amp it is a 3k amp (subs)and a 1k amp (mids and highs) my stock alt was a 50 amp but I upgraded to a 105 amp ....so then not just a 600 and a 1400....alright how about a stock style battery and 2 1400's in the back?
