Thomas
Well heres the deal.Im currently running my back up gear in my car which consists of a CVR 15 and a TMA 500.1. The sub is a dual 4 ohm wired in parallel into the mono block tma.Well the problem is that the amp keeps randomly slipping into protect mode. Its not getting hot and comes right back on when i restart it.The amp is 2 ohm stable,I have the gains set less than half way,Im not cranking on it too hard, and the wiring is adequate. I cant come up with any other reason why it would be going into protect.Ive checked everything i can think of... Ground is good, positive and negative speaker wires not touching anywhere, running at 2 ohms, not overheating.Anybody have any other ideas?
Thomas
I should add that i have had very bad luck with tma amps so far so it wouldn't surprise me if the amp is just faulty.I originally bought two of of these amps, one of them was broken right out of the box but i got it replaced.I ran them both for about 6 months then one of them randomly stopped working out of nowhere. It powers up light and all but makes no noise and gets VERY hot to the touch within minutes. I knew these amps were junk when i bought them.

cc_audio
What kind of signal voltage are you sending it? I heard TMAs can't handle shit for RCA voltage. It's all gone! kmalinich
hmm... if your deck goes to .. say.. 50.. try tuning it with a max with your deck at 30. your component speakers will be really quiet but it'll test if the TMA amp can't handle the high(er) RCA voltage
