Mostar Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 I'm sellin some 8s if you're interested. And based on the magnet size, you could always sink it a little farther into the door using the stock speaker hole for some extra mounting depth. PM me with the details. I might be interested. kmalinich Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 that's what i thought. because with the larger cone the upper frequency response drops off quicker than the tweeter can pick up... so that's why i'd throw a 4" in there... just make sure all active crossovers .. and set up correct.. with an RTA it'd be a cakewalk
kandiman71874 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 What Ray is getting at is that "SUBS" are not designed generally to be used in a true mid-bass application. There are 8's out there however that will work for the mid-bass range. You just have to know what you are looking at for your particular application for them to work out with all aspects of your install being taken into account on your front stage. Let it be known, the 8's in my sig being used for a mid-bass application are far from ideal to most people so do not take them as a good example on this situation... bink204 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I have an 02' envoy and i am doing some fiberglass enclosures for some p2 8's that i am putting in the kick panels. If you dont mind cutting some carpet back it is a good spot for them plus they will be in a good sized sealed enclosure for good mid bass. tacomabanga1986 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 why dont ppl just make kick pods for the 8's and just use 6&1/2's in the doors and be done with it? you could have more room in the kick and should sound better cause u aint gettin all kinda back waves off the other speakers resonateing threw the door and what knot and wont get the midbass you want, as tho if they was in the kicks they can be poundin away on a 150htz note and the doors playin the mid above and should sound better here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
