He wants to hook up his floorstanders in his room up to some random amp. but he wants 4 speakers on the two channel amp, and it needs to be above 8 ohms. so he can only go for 16, but he wants it lower so he can draw more power. The 15 idea was to lower the ohmage, but it would fail Quote My RE MT 18" wall build Former build, farewell beloved wall.In progress, Toyota Starlet build This forum has a massive boner for ridiculous electrical upgrades. MACnonsence6
You want to put 2 speakers on the left channel (16ohm) and 2 speakers on the right channel (16ohm) and then connect the right channel to one voice coil of the 15" sub and the left channel to the other voice coil of the 15" sub? yes this is exactly what im trying to do and its a home sterio not a car sterio lol Quote I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

kmalinich
Why does it have to be a 16 Ohm load per channel? What ohm rating are the speakers? Where is the power coming from? Why do I have to ask all these questions? Why do people make threads like this?
cqtama
the amp only puts out 80 watts per chanel at 2 ohms.. how much do you think your gunna get at 8 or 16 ohms? not much at all. and did any one else notice that stereo is spelled with an e edit: that emoticon should say 8 0 not a face also how are you planning on running this in a home? its a car amp Edited March 27, 2010 by cqtama Quote R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
