badfish Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 im only going to be running 2000 watts between 3 jl amps, would using 000 be an overkill for the big 3 and to run to one battery in the back? i may get bigger amps down the road, but i dont want to have to redo powerlines, and i found it cheaper than knu 1/0, just cant find a fuseblock yet....

baaudio Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 I think he means 3/0. Stinger makes some 3/0 but its the weird oval style. But just 1/0 is fine for your application. I think your gonna have a hard time finding rings and fuseblocks for that large of a wire. But if its cheaper it may be worth it. badfish Posted March 26, 2010 Author Report Posted March 26, 2010 yeah 3/0 . ive been looking at welding cable, ive seen it listed as 000 too

Oh! i totally forgot about that size lol im all ''O_o i want to see some wire x3 the size of 1/0'' and to the OP, i think 1 run of 1/0ga would be good(BIG3 in 1/0,1 1/0 run of + wire, and 1-2 big bats in the back), but don't quote me on that, im no expert at wire size. badfish Posted March 26, 2010 Author Report Posted March 26, 2010 i found rings no problem figure ill have to mod a fuse block, how much bigger is 3/0 than 1/0? i assumed 3x
baaudio Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 If you had a fuse block that used rings it would prolly work. Or mod/make some like you were saying. Check darvex for some of those fuse blocks. I know stinger has some that style Team NWSPL baaudio Build Log 2001 GMC Sierra walkthrough 4 Mechman Elite 370s, 10 AGM batteries, 3 Crossfire XS v2 18s, Crossfire 8k
badfish Posted March 26, 2010 Author Report Posted March 26, 2010 i was thinking of modding darvex 1/0 ring style blocks just making the hole in the cover bigger, but ill check out stinger. thanks for the advice
-Hobby- Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Im using some of the Stinger HPM cheapo fuse blocks from Darvex. The holes on the ends are pretty large already. Will probably accept 3/0 no problem. I'll be finding out soon because my 3/0 is on the way here for my upgrade to the electrical.
