Wow...But then I cant blame you entirely for thinking that way. I didn't know you designed subs, built and engineered them. I understand your a part of T3 Audio, so at this point I can only take your comments and derogatively as its brand on brand favoritism. If T3 adopted similar topologies I wonder if you would still be so quick to judge the SMDs abilities as your playing them down. Correct, everything can be broken. But this is NOT failure due to a manufacture or design error, its USER error.

I hope Trippi gets it sorted, looking and running faultlessly.. I almost wish I lived there and was able to take on a build like it.. That bish would be walled and no other way, sorry!

I am part of T3, but through this build I have done tons of marketing of AA and have given great reviews to people and probably even made sales.

I have never talked about points I see lacking about the woofer, I wasnt even gonna tell anyone it blew because as professional courtesy, I dont believe in talking about other companies product failures.

Now Nick, he is extremely pompous, egotistical, thick headed, arrogant, and rude. He shows tremendous brand favoritism and it's impossible for him to ever have an unbiased opinion.

How bout Randy Kubeck's 10" AA woofer having the motor fall off? I bet Nick would blame that on the box design or something absurd. He cant even see through his ego that mistakes and failures can happen for any number of reasons. The fact he is blaming me is just dumb.

And he isnt even really giving advice and thats why I am closing my ear to him, he is just nit picking and bashing, not being helpful at all.

Also, the "Woofer designs" from industrial applications is very real. The technology is very real. Who ever said I was using anything remotely close to what is being used in the car audio market? I definitely didn't...

Nope...it wouldn't hold up to the environment in which it is used in the way you see it. "Surround material" wouldn't hold up, nor would the cone body...nor would the CA glue. I do know it is really hard for you to think outside of the box, but what I do is very..very..very real. The industrial stuff is so far off in left field that you couldn't even comprehend it. You still don't understand something you've had in your own hands.

You dont have any knowledge of this install except for the pics and a few vids you have seen. You dont know the whole circumstance surrounding the blown woofer so how can you accurately judge the failure?

Ooh 2 coils 1 gap. One coil is in the gap and the other is not, woofer moves and the other coil is in the gap. Yeah super secret tech there.

Think outside the box, ha, if you even knew what I have done in the past and what I have in store for the future. You really are so stuck inside yourself that you cant see anything.

Hows that super long former and basic paper cone working out? Dont believe they can cause issues? That your design is so perfect? Go ahead and throw that woofer in a 165+ dB Superstreet car or 175+ dB extreme car and see how indestructable they are.

Look, the SMD woofer is built incredibly well, and plays extremely clean, especially for a woofer of its caliber.

And AA has teamed up with a tremendous spokesman in Steve Meade, who shows how amazing this thing is.

But then they have you who just makes people get a bad taste in their mouth whenever you comment on any forum. You are best behind the scenes so I suggest you stay there.

Now the circumstances around the woofer failure that you are so quick to ignore and blame other things are this.

- Finished connecting woofers to amps at the show at Carlisle 30 minutes before tow truck took it away from me.

-Subs and amps were un tested and un tuned, but all played.

-Truck sat at another installer's shop for 2 weeks for other work

-Other installer beated and pounded on system into clipping on numerous occasions.

-Truck returned to me for tuning.

-Found RCA issues on final 4 amps, 2 of which are on blown woofer.

-RCA issue was causing un equal voltage output from amps.

-RCA fixed, and amps all matched

-All woofers played, however individual coils not tested before tow truck picked up truck again.

-2 weeks later Trippi notified me a woofer wasnt playing.

-a few days later at another shop the woofer sparked and smoked.

Now you asked why it would spark. Hmm, lets see. Well the coil came unwound, maybe thats it. The super long former could have wobbled but it didnt.

So start to think what would cause a coil to unwind.

Over current, over heat?

Also, the woofers are built very well. But AA has a coil supplier correct?

Well, if that coil supplier produces 1000 coils, and has a 1% failure rate, thats 10 coils that can have issues right off the bat. And yes, every manufacturer has a failure rate no matter how small.

My point here is that there a more factors than what you know and you are too quick to jump to conclusions.

My other pojnt is that I dont like you and if you go to recone the sub, I am not going because I dont wanna meet you.

If amps are failing because of vibration then we do have to address that.

Honestly, I havent even had the time to check out the vibration up there when playing. From what I saw the first day it was playing was that they barely moved, at least the rear amps, which are for subs.

The rack I first started building was 8 amps behind the front seats. That is still an option along with a sunken floor.

A wall can be accomplished but there are some obstacles.

#1 its almost a total rebuild.

#2 Fitting 6) 18s is tough, give them a 15" mounting depth and its even more tough. Wouldnt wanna sacrifice box volume or port area.

i personally love the install and i love where those amps are mounted. It looks safe to me so i dont know what the fuss is about. The box looks and works great! Who is this guy to tell you that theres something wrong with the box?

Anyway, Trippi, Ed, just take the shit talkers for what it is, exposure. Its what i deal with every hour of every single day. Some gonna' love it, some gonna hate it, some gonna critisize even though they dont even have a car or never built a basic box.

Ive done builds almost to this scale (as you know) and i dont see any reason for me to nit pick on this ride so why would someone who has never been there before even think about it? Just kick back and enjoy it for what it is and learn from the pics you see.....if you see something you would do different, then do it DIFFERENT when building your own monster system. And if its so bad in your eyes that you cant resist saying something, why be a punk about it, why not be courteous and respectful about it? Why not say something to the mans face while your there instead of running home and getting up on the net?

I am just 1 guy with a small garage and some hand tools.

Nit pickers are now comparing me to Master level installer/fabricators, which I never claimed to be.

And I guess it has good and bad to it. Just wish I also had the income they get, lol.

Sorry I am getting defensive here, working day and night for 2 months on a project kind of makes me proud no matter what standard it's built up to.

Its no SEMA show car, but I did my darndest.

all tho im not a AA/FI fan. I have to say you do really good work. If I ever decided to let someone else do work on my ride, you would be in the TOP 3 choices. Keep it up. When the bashers post a build that beats this then they can talk, until then there just blowing smoke

I would just like to point out the fact that this entire build when ever a compliment was stated about the build and installation Ed never wanted to say that it was all that great or he could have done better.. he was very humble about the entire thing
