Ric Thornton Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 The SECOND day of Trippi's Audio Christmas has come to a close... here are some pix of what got done today... pic of the 1" plexi.. you will see where this goes in a few pix down... first piece of birch is cut and bolted to the floor... close up of the bolt tie downs... washers and lock washers are countersunk... second piece is down, and back slope is started... this is continued until I bolted the back part of the enclosure down using large washers, and lock washers... then two more layers were added on top of that... another angle... then the first layer of the sides and top are put together... can you guess where the plexi goes?? a few other angles... we were thinking of you ed, ya might not be here in person, but you are here in spirit... ok guys/gals... stay tuned for more updates monday evening... I know an inch thick piece of plexi is not equal to a triple layer of birch. Architectural glazing • Optical lenses • Pediatric incubators • Transparent tanks • Aquariums • Merchandising displays • Hockey rinks • Industrial and school glazing • Skylights • Furniture • Outdoor signs 1/4" G grade Plexiglas is rated at a shear strength of 9000 psi (THIS is 1". that's 36000 psi)
