UPDATED..Is this covered under warranty (vehicle)/anybody else have an aveo or know somebody that does?

So..I have a chevy aveo, right?

Well, I have a little.. problem. The bottom of the back door on both sides is like all chipped. It's like this on both sides after not even 8 months (and almost 8k miles) of owning it. We don't do freaky shit with it or anything so.. wtf?

The pictures don't really do it justice, and it was dark out which doesn't help.

oh and if anybody else has an aveo or knows somebody that does.. do they have this problem?

edit: and before anybody says it.. this isn't just dirt or something

My friend has a new aveo and he took it to the dealer and they pretty much told him to f**k off and it was his fualt. He is a ford fusion now. lol good luck with it!

you can get that covered under warranty with a big enough temper tantrum in the dealership.

take it to the dealer say it started wearing away while washing.. dont say anything else.. say you used a garden hose with the mr clean thing at 42 psi(normal hose pressure) and they refuse to do anything WRITE TO CHEVY

I know on the Trailblazers a few years ago there was a TSB about rocks chipping the rocker panels. I think in that case they would repair it. Never hurts to ask. Try hitting up a Chevy Aveo forum and see if it's a widespread problem.

I can't seem to find any chevy aveo forums..I've looked.

All I can find is like a little discussion on edmunds, I'll try there I suppose.

Edit: There seem to be some new places which weren't there a couple months ago..

This is true with any business.

But I suggest going to your dealer first, talk to the general manager.

But make sure you are still in the main lobby area. If he/she starts giving the run around start getting loud.

My old man recently bought a 04 caddy srx and the hood looked like it had rust.

The salesman got his boss that tried to play it off as my dad bought a 45k car for 15k what did he expect?

I looked at the manager and said "your right it is a helluva deal on this car, doesnt mean he has to accept fucked up paint" in a loud and rude voice.

They had the body people up there in like 3 minutes. They also gave him a we owe with a written warranty:P.

It should be covered under the 12 month warranty tho.

When I worked at a Chevy dealership, we had a couple on the lot like that. It is a pretty widespread problem. Just go to the service drive and tell them you want this fixed because it is no fault of your own. If they try and give you the run around, go to his boss, and then his boss. I can guarantee they will fix it if you bitch enough.
