RE XXX18 enclosure help

i just got a RE XXX18. i want to build a box thats going to play low and loud... its goinf in a 96 s-10 blAZER. 2 door.rear seats are folded down

my max demensions are 38w x 18h x 48d. if box need to be smaller which i think its going to be. i would like to shorten the depth(48) to the appropriate size to get the correct cubic feet. can someone please help... sub up port back i think, or whatever you reccomend... i want to start building tomorrow!!! oh and im gonna use 1 inch MDF

i didnt ask what you think of the sub!! im asking for help with the box.

a xxx isnt gonna really be both, no matter what box you use, ive owned over 30 diff xxx subs,

maybe tell more about the amp your doing to be running on it and what year subs you have and MAYBE youll get some help

The new XXX subs are better suited to home theater use.

They need huge sealed enclosures and don't perform well at all in small to medium sized ported enclosures.

i only bought this sub cuz i got it for only 250 bucks so i couldnt pass dat up.. but ill be using an AQ3500 for power. so would a sealed box work better with this sub????

put it in 20 cubic feet tuned to 10hz, you'll scare yourself.
