What I meant is if you were to use the same subs same amps... Subs up , port back you would be around 146.

Now if you go 18's and more power :)

so your saying I might be able to stretch a 146 with my current setup just a different box. If so I'm gonna need to design a CRX box. Which means I got three 15" t-lines for sale. Haha

Tlines are impressive sounding, and push alot of wind, but they have never been known to meter loud

Well, they have in some cases

The problem with tlines metering loud is how the cone, and port are out of phase 360deg, there is still bass obviously, not 180deg out of phase, but the problem is, the length of the port, basically the cone puts out bass before the port does, there is technical terms for it, but i can remember what its called right now

Now, a tline bandpass, resolves this issue, no phase issues at all due to the back side of the woofer being sealed off

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

How much could I expect to gain, If I decided to seal of the front of the woofers, and do a bandpass tline

So smething is up with my Internet at my house so I am forced to use my iPhon. So bear with me. I got a box all designed up and was just wondering on a few Things. Well the box is gonna look just like the one in the video above or on the previous page. It's gonna be 24" tall 32" wide 30" deep. The port is gonna have an area of 90square inches and be 20" in length. Also the box is gonna be 9.60 cubes and tuned to 30.12Hz. Sub displacement has been taken in account. But bracing has not. I made the box like down to low 9.1 and t went o 31hz.

First question is the port area to small for 3 15" Alpine Type Rs?

Second is 30-31hz gonna get me louder then what I'm at now. The box I have now is tuned to 35hz but peaks at 39hz?

If the port area is too small how how much bigger would you go? consider now inside port dimensions are 9" tall 10" wide and 20" long.

Also I know I will need bracing and a double baffle on top but would you double baffle the sides and bottom too? Or would 2"x4" bracing be enough for the sides?

BTW. The box is gonna be subs firing up port firing back.

Please help. I wanna buy the wood today and get constructing this

If someone with any knowledge can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Should I make the port the whole width of the box and only 4" tall and have a longer port. What's better. 90square inch port like 20" long. Or 122square inch port 30" long. 30.5" wide 4" tall 30" long

HELP

Well yesterday I went and bought 2 sheets of MDF and two 2x4s. Got all the wood cut up last night. And today I started to assemble the box. Got everything done but the bottom and the bracing.

The box specs are 33" wide, 33" deep, 21" tall. Port is 6" tall, 18" wide, 26" long. Box is exactly 9.00 cubes and tuned to 30.5Hz with all bracing and subs taken in account for. Internet is being gay still so I will try to get pictures up tomorrow.

Box size looks good, bu if you want a better score on the TL, i would tune a little bit higher than 30 hz, maybe 37 hz?? that would still play very nice on lows, yes a CRX box with 3 15´s and a 37 hz tuning with that power should score at least 146 dbs without much problems, T-lines suck for numbers (at least that´s what i saw on a lot of threads).

well as it is now. My tlines are tuned at 35hz and I peak at 39hz. I don't mind where I peak. I just want to be able to hit the lows better and move some more air. But with the way the box is built. I think I know a way to make the box get tuned to about 34. All I have to do is add in some pieces I have allready measured but not yet cut

Yep, that´s another way, you could leave your 30 hz tuning 9 cubic feet box r daily, and when you are going to a comp, shrink the box so you can change your tuning , internal space and peak, big problem is that, with that low tuning, you would have to shrink it A LOT, something like 1.5 cubic feet with some wood, sandbags or even a batteries so you could barely get 34 hz tuning, you also peaked that low because the T-lines are like that, a CRX box in that car should peak 5 or 6 hz above tuning depending on the box size i guess...
