bcpballer64 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Share Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Ok I recently installed an E8 v1 in a friends car. The box is .6 ft^3 tuned at 30hz (on the sundown site). It worked great for about the first two weeks and then a couple of days ago(the weekend sometime) apparently it started making a noise so i took it out and looked at it and i could see anything hitting no burnt coil no loose tinsels or anything. So i put it back in and I here the noise its like a metallic clicking but the weird thing is that the bass still hits normal its like something is rubbing or something. Please help!!!!! Skullz Posted April 20, 2010 Report Share Posted April 20, 2010 Sounds like the coil is rubbing on the pole as it travels up and down, with the speaker out of the box try pulling on the sub lightly to see if the spider is still attached on the outside and check the spider near the coil to see if it hasn't broke free there also. Now my question for Mr. Jacob would you take this back on a partial trade in and let me order a new one at a discount?
