mixing different size woofers?

ok my wife had 2 memphis 12s in her car and we had to take them out one day and now she wants them back in but i also have a memphis 15 that im not using anymore since i blew its twin so she wants that in her trunk along with the 12s. i mean they all look the same and its the same brand just different sizes and i always wondered what this would sound like anyway so i think im gonna do it. of course im gonna run her 2 12s off her amp and run the 15 off a different amp cause hers are SVC and mine is a DVC (hers are the M1 and mine is a M3). has anyone tried this and how did it come out like does it sound good or weird?

you will need alot of processing to get it to sound right I don't suggest doing it

if you use a bandpass filter on the 12's and cross them over from lets say 150 down to 50hz and let the 15 play from 50 down then yes. If you have two different size subs playing the same freq's your going to have phase issues!

Ive done this, back in highschool lol. the problem was tuning, you'll have a hard time making the 15 hit the same notes as the 12s. It could happen with a lot of work, but i doubt it'd be worth the trouble....IMO

ok i was just wondering. ever since i was younger i thought if doing it and having like 2 10s tuned to handle the higher bass and a 15 tuned to handle the lows but was always to scared to waste my money on it cause i didnt think it would work right and prob sound like crap but since i have the subs now i was gonna finally try lol
