I don't think you should be playing with this stuff if you don't know the basics, not trying to be mean, I just don't think it's a good idea. Just make a very good ported. Can't any sub take an ohm load that low, assuming the amp won't blow it? It'll sound like crap. Metal will sound great in a good ported box. If you don't have the room to make a ported box for 4 12's behind your seats, then you'll just have to seal them all up. Hey. You. MACnonsence6 Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 by blow threw you are refering to essentially the box being in the bed of the truck and the subs being in the cab correct? if so that is something i really do not wish to do becouse of all the cutting and re sale of the truck would never happen after that. sealed boxes would be much easyer to build but i think in the end ported would end up using less cu. if im thinking correctly becouse i could just build the ported box to the specs of one sub to fit the 4 just add the displacement of each to the totall cu. of the end result. is my thinking in that correct or no. id prolly go bigger then what the specs say in the link i posted but still I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha.
