Boon
I'd rather not have my system at 10 volts which is why I'm asking about batteries. I don't want the system to barely get bye, nor do I want my amps to be 300 degrees. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you don't know why you want lots of voltage, you just do because everybody seems to. Making less power? You know on some notes your subs impedance will be like 30 ohms or more. And it'll be getting a grand total of about 200w from your amp, due to inductive load. Do you think you'll hear the difference between 13.8 and 12.5 volts? Your system would 'barely get by' on a stock battery and alternator, provided you didn't wang on it for hours at a time at full tilt. Someone from DD was running a Z2LV (8350wrms @ 12v) on a stock civic alt and battery. No worries. I hear you (and like 75% of the forum) saying oh, oh, but I'll lose 400, 500, 600w... Only the termlab will care, to be honest. 10.x volts fo' life!
hdorre
yeah i forgot about that. whatll really help is the mla module. the thing that can make your volts go up to 15.. thatll really help man. Only the termlab will care, to be honest. I might notice the difference from a few thousand watts. Ill probably notice my headlights dim too. I understand what youre saying, but if I get equipment, I wanna try and make sure I can get all I can from it. Team_DC-Derrick
You would have better luck of keeping higher voltage with 5000 rms than 7000 for sure.. atleast with 1 300+ alt.. if you have the option to get 2, please do, it will save you alot of headaches down the road, like i am going through right now The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... hdorre
Which setup would sound better. it's probably going to be in a 8.8 cubic foot box tuned to 32-33hz with a 4300 watt amp (audioque 3500.1D) 1) 2 15" Fi BTLs which would be stock 2) 2 15" DC Level 4XL On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
Team_DC-Derrick
well, rms stand point btls are 2000 rms and XLs are 1500 rms... both can handle more then that, but from the basic view, BTL.. personally i would do 5s vs BTLs just because they are kinda similiar, like, cousins i would say The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... That's why I was comparing the two.
