Freshman6969
I basically have four, 4 ohm speakers. How would I wire them to get the most out of the amp? If its possible im going for the 500 x 2 at 2 ohm. 4ohm speakers need to be run at 4 ohm( correct me if im wrong please) also what type of speakers, model number etc Quote Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! typicaljawaiian
I want to explain this to you but I type really slow, so let me say you probably won't like the out come if you put all 4 speakers on a 2 channel amp since you won't beable to balance your sound. I recommend a 4 channel amp for what you would like to do and thats 85 watts to each speaker man. Thanks for the recommendation! I dont care so much about Left to Right (balance), I would like to be able to control fade though. If people are commenting, sorry I type slow also. MrSkippyJ
Where would I be as far as power? 105 watt per speaker? Yes, and that would be the correct way to do it. Robert8252
No, 4 ohm speakers can run at 2ohms since the speaker isn't effected. Only the amp putting out the power. Wire every 2 speakers parallel to a channel. Example... Speaker1 + to amp + Spekaer 2+ to same amp + Speaker1 - to amp - Speaker2 - to same amp - This will put a 2ohm load on each channel but the speakers are still 4 ohm speakers. typicaljawaiian
Could I wire the two door speakers from single 4 ohm down to 2 ohm, and same for the rear? That way giving me two channels @ 2 ohm. Again sorry I type slow.
MrSkippyJ
4ohm speakers need to be run at 4 ohm( correct me if im wrong please) also what type of speakers, model number etc Not sure what you mean by running a speaker at a certain ohm. A 4 ohm speaker will always be a 4 ohm speaker, you can't "run" it at anything else. ISO
Can we leave it at; your better off not doing what you want to do and you would blow the speakers if you do do it. Wire each speaker to a single channel and be happy with it or else you might get headaches. Quote Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. chud
4ohm speakers need to be run at 4 ohm( correct me if im wrong please) also what type of speakers, model number etc There's nothing wrong with wiring a pair of 4 ohm speakers to 2 ohms, but in this case it simply isn't necessary. This is just another one of those "I don't want to waste any of my amp's power" type of threads. Newbies post this type of question at ca.com almost every day...
