BTL FTW
I've got a chrysler crossfire with a single upward facing fully loaded BTL12 in 2.534 cubes after displacement slot ported to 32hz in a self build MDF and fiberglass enclosure with a RF 2500bd for power. thinking of something new. How does the DC lvl 5 compare to the loaded BTL? I listen to primarily hip hop/rap/bass heavy tunes but still want accurate articulate bass when a different music format demands it. DCmagnum
tottally not worth making the switch imo. far to close to the same end result im gonna catch hell for this i know that... a friend of mine had the xls with lv5 upgrades(i think lv 5 upgrades) but i wasnt very impressed by them and after hearing em he sold them. ive had btls, bls, ssd, and now i have the aa havocs and imo id keep the btl but maybe raise the tuning on the box. mine was tuned to 32 on my old box but i raised it to 35 on this and now im very happy. i also listen to hip hop, r&b but also stuff like motley crue and metallica kid rock etc. that 3hz made a big difference Quote ="Impact"] pioneer 4200 dvd 4 sets aa carbon mids 2 sets rockford power t1 tweeters rockford power t400.4 rockford power 4inch DC 175.4 DC 3.5k (soon to be 2) 2 DC XL 15s The artist formally known as willie3719
Team_DC-Derrick
you're buddy prob had a regular lvl 4 with lvl 5 coils since i think the XL comes with the same coils as the 5 already. No, its probably not a upgrade in any way.. But changing your box tuning like he said would make a big ass difference. 35hz seems to be the magical tuning area. I listen to nothing but rap and c&s music and 35hz is loud on all of it. Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... BTL FTW
havoc is a great sub for music, critical mass ul12 is great, id max is great also. Image Dynamics is still around? I ran 3 IDQ12s a couple years ago. I haven't heard about them in years. Is the IDMAX still a competitive sub?
