Donnie850
ok.. so heres my issue! Im gettin ready to install a 12" DD 2500, im running a kicker 800.2, yellow top optima, full ground wire upgrades the whole 9, however i still need a capacitor i know. My voltage from when i only had a JLw1 was very low.. mid 11's! while driving, I know the DD is gona drain the system. Im guessing my stock alt has just seen its days, or my optima batt is gettin old. But anyway... I was wanting to see if any honda owners on here have found good deals on aftermarket alternators? if so please send links!!!! ive spent alota cash already on what i got and just cant afford the $350 iraggi (yet lol) ____ 98 honda prelude 2.2 vtec _____ Quote 98 prelude h22a auto 17" maas racing rims Magnaflow cat (still need header and cat back) ebay intake (gets the job done) Lots of custom interior work out dated kenwood double din touch screen all kenwood mids highs (could be better) Kicker 800.2 JL w1 ..soon to be DD 2500 12" optima yellow top
kirill007
I don't think you can buy a cheaper alt, that's worth buying. Quote Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Donnie850
huh.. so i just ran into some weird stuff. I figured id test my battery real quick. It read at 14.15 while running! I turned on the a/c and head lights, slowly dropped to 13.15 and held strong.... now the messed up part, my volt gauge in the car reads 12.1v... WTF? I saw one in a Suburban a few weeks ago that was reading 17 volts on the dash. With a meter on the battery it read 14.3. Quote God damn its hot today. My balls are stuck to my leg. superdave07
This is true, if you still have an amp in your car try testing the voltage at the amp while the car is on with all the lights and what not are on also. Voltage gauges in hondas are pretty much a nice fill of space in your dash Quote Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com

Donnie850
ugg.. yeah its a bad gauge! checked the volts from the amp, everything was normal. I guess its better than a bad battery or alternator lol. Just a pain in the ass to get to as you can see in the pic.
