2 T2k's or 1 T4K

Recommended Posts

What are the pros and cons to this?? I already have a T2k Fosgate power amp, but wanting to upgrade to 4K Watts. I'm wondering what would be a better route. Just having one big amp or two 2K Amps. How would amp draw be between the two? Space is obviously an advantage of one amp. The amp/amps will be pushing 4 Fi Bl's fully loaded. Thanks for any advice.

less wiring to do ftw. lol thats my opinon.

Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal?

heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked.

i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat

Will your wiring configurations be the same? If not then man if you already have a good t2k then just get another. It would look cleaner in my opinion

I agree with this statement. Also with 1 4k, the subs will get the EXACT same power if im correct

Yes it will draw more current... I tried the same thing with Mmats amps... Had 2 2000's and then went to the HD4000 and it was alot less draw...

Well the t4k uses a 500 amp fuse and the t2k uses a 250 amp fuse. So 2 t2ks should draw the same as a t4k...right? That seems like that's how it should be.

Depend on what your subs are too.... I have A t40001bd but would rather have 2 T20001bd because my 4 subs are dual 4ohm and I can either run .5 ohm at the amp or 2ohm. I run it at 2ohm to be safe, now if I had 2 T20001bd I could run a pair of subs to each amp at 1ohm and get full potential or I could master slave the amps and get full power at 2ohm.

@Hdorre: You agree with less wiring....and getting a second amp? The two do not go together.

sorry for the confusion! I didn't mean to quote the second thing. I'll fix it.
