Went to my first competition today and kinda wish I had a better score.

Car is a 2001 2Dr Blazer. I hit a 142 at the dash with 1 15" Kicker L7, 1200 Wattz RMS in a custom box tuned to 32HZ at about 4 cubic feet.

Is this a good score for a first timer, and for just 1 L7? I am thinking of moving it up to 2 18's and more power. Tips? Thanks

sounds good to me, i have a 2000 2 dr. blazer and i hit 137.9 at the dash sealed up, on right around 800 watts rms on a 15" diamond audio d3. my box is 4 cubes, and tuned at 32 hz. I would say a 142 is good. are your subs up or back, and which way is your port facing??

The best orientation i found in mine, was sub back port to the drivers side. I had 1 10" l7 in a box tuned at 36 hz, and hit a 135 sealed up. don't remember the cubes on it, its been a while. the scores are on a tl to.

Sub is facing up. Port facing up

I am not sure, I wish I knew. I played a swine sweep. I am guessing 37 or 38?

Heres pic of sub\box for anyone that wants to see it.

I hit 144.6 DB with 2 L7 @ ~1000 RMS Ea. 12's tuned to 32Hz playing a Drake's "uptown" un modded. Stock elc.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

advice/tips = play around with that sub more before you do 2 18s.

figure out what your vehicle likes in terms of box position and tune. its easier to build alot of single 15 boxes than dual 18 boxes

congrats on finally making it to a comp. they get addicting. I had one today too and set my new high score.
