Though Im not sure if it would make a difference for like a dual 4 ohm wired to 1ohm and a dual.5 ohm(if they make those) wired to 1ohm, though subs like that most likely will be very different to begin with. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ baaudio Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Depends. I've seen setups with an 8 ohm woofer and 4 ohm woofer. Although they were in seperate chambers and seperate channels on the amplifier. I wouldn't recommend running different ohm loads though. k3n12ock Posted May 25, 2010 Author Report Posted May 25, 2010 Well, I have single 8 ohm 6" speakers and am having a hard time finding a cheap set of 8 ohm 4" speakers so basically I was planning on mixing a single 8 & a single 4 ohm on a channel. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. Since you are using them for midbass I am not so sure. But I believe no matter midbass or bass you still shouldnt throw off an ohm load. It will still be connected to a channel with a certain ohm load.

It will still be connected to a channel with a certain ohm load. it wont cause any damage. Not sure what happened with your amp, maybe it's because it was a pyramid lol. It's no different than hooking any other speakers up with the same impedance. my subs are .2 ohms different for example. But yes depending on the impedance your subs will see different power for each given load. oh yea everything should be in a separate chamber just to clear things up.
