Hello everyone,

I believe that this is my first post on this forum, I have talked with Steve Meade about buying an AA/SMD 18" on YouTube,

And I made an account on here, but I haven't posted until now.

Anyway, I am wondering what would happen:

Imagine if you could somehow get an 18" Subwoofer to do, say, 20mm of excursion, at 21,000Hz+, anything out of audible range.

Since it is out of audible range, would it hurt hearing? What would happen?

I keep thinking about it, and I THINK that it would simply be like bass, but instead of shaking it would just rip stuff apart.

Anybody got any ideas? POST THEM! I would love to hear your ideas. :)

Thanks,

~Vidmaster

LOL,

EDIT:

Ok, fine. AN 18" TWEETER.

I am just saying, if AN OBJECT, SOMETHING moved at 21,000Hz with 20mm of excursion, what would happen?

I'm no expert but I don't think 21,000hz is really considered as bass

Lol, ok,

I shouldn't have said subwoofer. And by the way, subwoofers can easily make a 15,000Hz tone, they just need an insane amount of power.

Just because it's a subwoofer, doesn't mean that it is IMPOSSIBLE for it to play a high pitched tone...

BUT: If you had an 18" tweeter moving at 21,000Hz, 20mm of excursion, what would happen?

You're telling me to post something that "makes sense" after you started this thread? Hilarious.

My avatar is a thing of beauty. :fyi:

How does what I post not make sense?

It is possible.

Explain to me how it is not possible?

If you had enough power going to it, it is POSSIBLE for an object to move 20mm at 21,000Hz.

Instead of telling me it does not make sense, EXPLAIN to me how it does not make sense...

OH - wait, you can't.

PLEASE, somebody post something discussing what I said, or tell me how it "isn't possible".

Lol,

I really didn't expect HHR Ed to be so awesome.

I cant wait till he chimes in with some info and then cleans up this thread.

He really is a Super Mod :good:

But honestly guys, if you are just going to post to make fun of something for no reason, then don't post!

:D

I do know about audio, im not a noob.
