new2boom Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 why dont anybody make subs that use electromagnets? ones were you can adjust magnet strength i found one on the net that weighs 2 pounds and can lift 200 pounds and was only $66 dollars and run off 4-c batteries im not a sub builder just wondering why not? sealed up on the termlab mic on dash 4-sa12"s 2-3500d's 153.4db now testing a american bass 1100.1 no numbers yet 300amp iraggi alt and kinetik batts.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.

I do appliance repair, and I deal with solenoids, like gas, and water valves, these are electromagnets, and have a lot of pull, but again, they run on 120 - 240v, also are AC current, not DC, DC will get to hot, and maybe even act as a heating element So what I have thought about was 6 electro magnet towers, ran in series, but power in to the coils seems like it may be a problem. To have these in series, you would need pretty thick magnet wire, and then cost goes back up again, back to about the same price of ferrite, more than likely double 6 electro magnets with 16 gauge wire with about 20 layers+ deep each EM, will need some good juice to get this working, and costly on the wire side Only way to go around this, I was thinking hybrid, ferrite or Neo PLUS electro magnets I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
