boomin
I'm looking to get a nice computer since im done with high school now. i dont know where to start i just need it to be FAST and well priced. games would be nice to play on it so a big graphics card would be good and a big drive for lots of movies (purchased ones of course ) also would like for it to come with a monitor and possibly be compatible with 2 monitors (i have a spare im not using i might as well somehow put it to use) i would like a combo deal with everything BUT the speakers ive already got some nice ones i plan on using (tower, moniter, keyboard, mouse.) Moti
So you plan on reusing your case, monitor, keyboard, and mouse? I suggest building it by yourself if you are comfortable with it. Most bang for your buck. This setup is well rounded and very powerful. The AM3 platform has a great upgrade path.. if you ever need more performance you can drop in one of the six cores in the future. The motherboard is future-proofed with sata 6 Gb/s and USB 3.0. Alot of the components have really good manufacture warranties... for example the PSU is covered for 5 years and the G.Skill ram has a lifetime warranty. If you need to get a case I would recommend the Antec 300 and if you need a better cooler I would go with the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus. boomin
Very good suggestions Moti, however im looking to buy one complete, rather than parts. I want just a fresh start (no more slow POS just plug in and start over) Any other suggestions? SJClark09
I agree with Moti. Build your own. With the amount you spend on a pre-built computer, you can build a better one for the same price on your own. I built my PC just after x-mas and it was one of the greatest investments i've made thusfar. The thing about building your own is the fact that you can keep constantly upgrading if you feel the performance is dragging. Hope this helps ~SJ Edited June 8, 2010 by SJClark09 Quote Who ever said nothing is impossible never tried to slam a revolving door.
S15_Silvia
Agreed with everyone on here. Building is the way to go if you've got the time to learn it. Even if you don't...just make time or something. I helped another guy on here build his, and he's been having a great time with the system he made. IF you are going to build, before I put a parts list up, I would just say that buying a nice case and a little bigger PSU than you need will let you upgrade for a looong time. techforce
If u simply do not want to build your own... Newegg has a prebuilt one that is pretty decent for $700 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227267
boomin
Well, I've decided due to lack of funds, I am going to build one. My computer is a Dell Dimension 2350, and the hard drive is fryed, so it will be needing a new one.... What parts fit this computer, that will make it really fast? EricR
I got my HP p6210y for around 650 in January. Absolutely love it Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
