bumpinTL364
Lookin for a 2 channel 2x400 watt amp and came up with a good lookin 2x420 rms 2ch amp (oxygen audio oa1800.2) I plan on running a pair of kicker 10" CompVRs in either a sealed box or ported box tuned to 38mhz. Would this amp overpower these subs, or could it work as long as i didnt crank the volume up to 100%? im also still open to suggestions for any other good 2x400 with a reasonable price tag. Thanks! OrionStang
Why not find a used kicker 1000.1? Those comps can handle the extra hundred watts each,, if the amp is tuned right. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Guest
that thing probably does as much power as all the other "1800 watt" 2 channels. which is like 400rms total. get a monoblock amplifier. what model CVR's do you have? i dont want "12" CVR" i want a real model number, like dual 2 dual 4 ohm. bumpinTL364
Just read that monoblocks are better sub amps and multi-channelsshud be used for mids and highs, is this true? Also, would running a split mono (both subs run in parallel) be more powerful/cost effective than just a regular 2ch? Toady
I've went from 2 channel to monoblock, BIG DIFFERENCE, and they have a subsonic filter I would use a multichannel amp on mids and highs, you can use them on subs, but a monoblock is much better
bumpinTL364
Alright thanks ill start lookin around... Should i look for 400rms to wire in series or 800rms to wire in parallel?
