I bought an amp and i need to run the wires from my car battery to my cars interior. Do i need to pull up the carpeting to run the wires? Or do i just make a hole myself?

pop the hood and look for where wire already run through the firewall and see if you can fish the wire through there. If not you will need to drill a hole in your firewall.

And depending on how thick the wire is you could always run the wire under your trim panels.

I have tried to stick a few things through the firewall and no luck, it seems like theres metal between the engine and the interior, is the firewall just made out of some plastic that i need to drill thru?

no it's like pop metal but you gotta drill a hole through it; look, look again and drill once

firewalls are always metal. if you cant find a grommet in it from the factory youl have to drill your own hole. dont try to run your wire through your door jam cus thats sum dangerous shit = fire hazzard

In my Intrepid I ran it under the car. I removed the backseat and there were already some holes there that had been plugged at the factory. You may want to check that option out.
