first off big thanks to Tiller for helping me out with this and teaching me how to fiberglass

masked off the iPad ready to pour some resin over it to get the shell

IMG_0561.jpg

resin coat (red), mat over the top (black)

IMG_0563.jpg

I had no idea how I was going to get it to be flush but I came up with this

IMG_0564.jpg

then I'm going to take that template and fiberglass that to the bezel and cut out the opening for the iPad

oh and I smoothed out the left side grooves like Steve because my iPad install will be similar to the way Steve has his mac mini flushed into the dash so there will be no grooves

IMG_0565.jpg

a really snug fit on the shell

I never thought that I would be able to tackle this project but I'm finally getting somewhere

I don't currently have a headunit and don't really know if I will be running one in the future..

my goal is to have the iPad go straight to a Rockford Fosgate 360.3

and thanks I really like how I did the purple this time

did some more work on it today...

just getting a feel for how its going to look in the dash

IMG_0567.jpg

cut out the template

IMG_0568.jpg

IMG_0569.jpg

finished smoothing the groove on the left side

IMG_0570.jpg

now time to hold the template in

IMG_0571.jpg

after a couple hours of shaving away and sanding to get it some what smooth

IMG_0573.jpg

IMG_0574.jpg

it is almost done!

IMG_0575.jpg

keep in mind this is my first time working with bondo and fiberglass so go easy on me

Looks incredible man! I'm looking for every possible solution to mount or have a spot for my iPad in my car but I have limited space unlike you.

Keep up the hard work. This Tahoe is bad ass! I've been watching this thing forever.
