cheap watts vs. expensive ones

no... because of the way a speaker works. The voicecoil essentially becomes a magnet as a charge moves through it.... making it repel/attract to the stationary magnet- hence movement. The magnetic force on a coil has to do with amperage, not voltage. Meaning some watts could be stronger/weaker when it comes to moving a sub.

What are these "strong watts" and "weak watts"???

Consider this scenario, 3 amplifiers, (1) 10v with 10a (2)100v with 1a (3)1v with 100a

Which of these amplifiers will produce the loudest sound with their (heres the tricky part) appropriately matched woofer?

*HINT* all of these are putting out 100 watts

Watts are not just watts.

Not all similar powered amps are created equal.

Depending on the impedance and wiring scheme of your woofers, either more voltage or more current may be beneficial.

You can indeed have actual 1500w going to your woofers be louder than another amp doing the same exact power.

And in MOST cases, wiring voice coils in parallel would be louder than wiring voice coils in series even if the final ohm load is the same, and actual power is equal.

All watts are created equal lol. There are "different types of watts" ie. strong, weak, fat skinny. although a certain wattage can be composed of an infinite amount of voltage and current combinations.

A watt is a measure of POWER, not force, not energy.

If 2 amps of different brands are both putting out the same wattage, and paired with subs of equal sensitivity, then since they are both putting out the same power, the subs will produce the same sound, even if the amps aren't putting out the same voltage

After hundreds and hundreds of tests. Myself and dozens of other top SPL guys have found differences with the same power, but different volt to current ratio.

I think the difference is remembering ohm's law... (others have sorta touched on this) amperage(A) as you say is what creates the magnetic force. A = V * R. What of those is "constant"? The R. (obviously not completely, but the amp can't change it directly) So how is A increased? By increasing V. There is no way to have "bigger" amps as you say. An amp is an amp. As stated, some of the big differences between amplifiers is the quality of signal/reliability/efficiency. Cheap amps will often have cheaper parts.

Where are these volts and currents measured? I am assuming the voltage is measured on the speaker side of the amp and the current is measured on the battery side?

No, we are talking about output power, everything is on the speaker output side.
